Plant information
The KTI ultra-low temperature cold storage is in a CSC-certified 40-foot container integrated. This enables quick assembly and allows easy transport worldwide - wherever and whenever the ultra-low temperature bearing is needed.
The ultra-low temperature bearing is available as "Box-in-Box"-system, which consists of an air lock zone at -20°C and the Ultra-low temperature section down to -110 °C consists. This two-chamber principle reduces heat input to a minimum. Likewise, the humidity inside can be controlled by dehumidification in the airlock.
The air locks used Refrigerants are air, CO2 and propane. Thus, our solution is the first ultra-low temperature storage container with only natural refrigerants -. more sustainability is not possible.

The air chiller
The air chiller in our ultra-low temperature warehouse operates in a open circuit. It draws in air that may contain ice crystals and dirt from inside the cold room, cleans it with two redundant filters, cools it and finally blows the air back into the cold room.
Via a distribution system, the expanded cold air is evenly distributed in the cold room, resulting in a Extremely homogeneous temperature distribution throughout the room.
The extremely low temperature at the intake reduces the dew point temperature by up to 20 K. This means that the products are stored in a particularly dry environment The air chiller is integrated into the refrigerated machine room on the back side of the ultra-low temperature warehouse and connected to the filter unit on the inside of the refrigerated room.
Expert knowledge
At full load at -80 °C, cold-air technology is about 10 percent more efficient than conventional cascade technologies - at partial load, it is very often up to 30 percent more efficient. This makes cold-air technology viable for the future from both an ecological and an economic point of view!
